What do you think about this idea?
Let your wound hurt, let your weaknesses open,
Or let your vulnerability be embraced…
The answer may be verified in different cultures.
In other words, different cultures understand weakness differently.
For instance, most Asian cultures consider shortcomings or weaknesses as shameful things. We, as human beings, need to hide them, keep them a secret. We only show our pride things such as strength, power, good appearance or wealth. Thus, a man should never cry; or many people show-off when they have a chance to be at a party, weddings or special events.

As a result, acting has become life skills in order to cover up weaknesses metaphorically and practically. To some extent, the level of honesty is damaged because of this way of thinking. This can also lead to a negative effect on self-awareness or self-motivation.
It is harmful to live someone’s life not mine,
It is unhealthy to pretend to be strong or rich or holy.
IT IS BETTER TO BE YOU, TO BE TRULY WHO YOU ARE.

One meaningful thing I have learnt from this culture is to let your deep pain hurt!
Let’s look at our own wounds closely and carefully.
Let’s spend time mourning it.
Let’s embrace our own pains as a part of life, do not reject it.
It is OK to not be OK.
One day, we might see our scars can turn into beauty.
It will be a time, mourning is turned into joy (Jer 31:13).
And it will be a time, with mourning, we are blessed
Because we will be comforted. (Matt 5:4).
So, JUST BE HONEST,
JUST BE WHO WE ARE
JUST CRY WHEN YOU NEED TO CRY
YOU ARE ENOUGH EVEN WITH YOUR WEAKNESSES,
BECAUSE YOU ARE LOVED ALWAYS!!!!

With love,
