“Be careful for what you wish for” is a Western idiom which means be aware of effects or consequences of the thing we expect or wish to happen upon our life.

One of the most recent instance for it is my situation at the moment.
Yesterday, during the time of waiting for the fight to Melbourne from Hobart, I wrote a review of the book: “Who moved my cheese?” by Dr. Spencer Johnson. The book is about how we can deal with change, unexpected situation in life. As my wish to cope with change, I had it right away!
The schedule of the Flight JQ 712 was 8:45 pm, Est. Arrival was 10.00 pm
After that it was delayed, the Est. Arrival was 10.30 pm.
Then, it was delayed again, est. Arrival was 1.00 am the next day.
Then, again, it was delayed to 1.30 am.
And last not the least, it was cancelled.
Hundreds of people was about to stay in Hobart for one night and waiting for accommodation.
In the end, I got to Movenpick Hotel at 3.00 am. The next flight is 3.45 pm today.

Wow, it was such a memorable night to experience many things!
I would like to talk about 2 important lessons which I could infer after The CHANGE!

Lesson 1: GOOD EDUCATION BRINGS GOOD ATTITUDES

I was astonished to see how calm and nice people were last night!
Indeed, there was no complaining, shouting, confronting or angry attitudes in the Airport. Everyone, especially the elderly and family with kids, was very gentle and understanding to wait to be arranged to a place to stay. I was thinking about the same situation could happen in another country and how hostile reactions can be produced.
The big question in my mind was how they can do it! And the answer should be a good education!

Lesson 2: INTERNAL FIGHT

It is always easy to say but it is much harder to put it into action.
Last night, it was a big big lesson for me to practise what I say, to prove the value of calmness and kindness and time management in difficult situations. I have to say, it was hard to fight with my own frustration to be put in the passive and uncontrolled circumstance. There were constant efforts to be positive and to focus on the other good things around. In the end, I think I did it by not saying any angry word or bad attitude to anyone and I laughed at the situation.

To sum-up, your flight can be cancelled and you would have to stay one more night. Believe me, it is not the end of world. Evidently, I had a good night in a 5 stars ✨ Hotel Movenpick and a luxury breakfast ever with many meaningful lessons.

Wish you have a good day and one day can experience a cancellation with positive attitude!
