A master asked his student, who is the leader of students: “Do you love me with perfect love (agape)?” The student made a great mistake in the past to deny his master 3 times under great pressure. Hence, he understood his limitations. He answered the master: Master, you know me, you know that I can only love you here and now (phileo), I can not have a perfect love as you asked me. The master answered: Look after other students.

Then, the master asked the student again: “Do you love me with perfect love (agape)? ” The student answered the same love here and now (phileo). The master told him: “Look after people around you.”

The third time, the master asked: Do you love me with the love here and now (phileo)? The student was sad because he saw that he could not respond to his master’s expectations. Humbly, he answered: “Master, you know me, you know that I can only love you here and now (phileo). Then, the master made him  a great master after him.

Every day from that day, he loved his master, other students, and people with his very human love – phileo until his last day to die for that love.

It is great to be accepted by who you are. And it is great to be faithful to the end. The world needs more love and fidelity!

With love,
