What do you know about sheep?

Is there something special about them?
Let’s explore this video to gain more insights about sheep!

After watching, did you learn some interesting lessons? Here are a few to ponder:
1. Sheep lack a sense of direction! They tend to wander off aimlessly.
2. Sheep lack self-defense! Without sharp teeth or the ability to growl or bark, they can not defend themselves.
3. Sheep need care. They need a shepherd. They are nothing without a shepherd!

Have you ever thought that, to some extent, we are like sheep?

Personally, I often see myself behaving like a sheep! I sometimes believe I have everything figured out in life; day after day, I go through the motions that I think give my life meaning. But the harsh reality is that I am no different from a wandering sheep. As the prophet Isaiah says, “we have all turned to our own way.” When we become consumed by our own desires, our own hopes, and our expectations, we can find ourselves trapped in isolation, much like a farm animal stuck in a loop.

However, today, we received good news.
The first reading reminds us: “I, the Lord, will take care of my flock. I myself will gather them from all countries, and I will lead them back to their pastures. They shall be fruitful and increase… No fear, no terror anymore, not one shall be lost – it is the Lord who speaks!” And in today’s Gospel, we witness Jesus moved with compassion for the people. Jesus, the good shepherd, shows, demonstrates his care and love.

Dear sisters and brothers, *
Jesus cares about you.

Jesus loves you.

Jesus desires your safety and happiness.

Jesus wants to be your good shepherd!

Do you allow Jesus to lead you?
Do you want to follow him?
Do you aspire to reflect the image of Jesus, a good shepherd,
to your family and neighbours with love, care, gentleness, patience, and kindness

Please read again Psalm with me the beautiful psalm 23: *
He guides me along the right path. He is true to his name.
If I should walk in the valley of darkness, no evil would I fear.
You are there with your crook and your staff; with these, you give me comfort.
The Lord is my shepherd. There is nothing I shall want. Amen.

With love,
