It’s impressive to see a skilled juggler expertly managing multiple objects in the air. However, metaphorically speaking, being a juggler is not always synonymous with being a happy or comfortable person; it can often signal the onset of workaholism.
Many companies today create a trap for their employees by encouraging them to work around the clock for the promise of promotions or substantial rewards. This frequently means working late into the night and sacrificing time with family, friends, and personal self-care. Employees may find themselves juggling multiple responsibilities, which can diminish their overall quality of life.
At times, juggling responsibilities is unavoidable. However, constantly being overwhelmed day in and day out is an unhealthy way to live. We must remember that we have the power to shape our own lives. In other words, we can design a life that is both happy and meaningful without relinquishing control to others.
“Jugglers aren’t paid very well, and sometimes they get hit on the head with balls they have in the air.” -Anne W. Schaef
