What you do from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm can significantly influence who you are and who you become.
This is a story about two monks from different mountains. Living at the summit, they descended daily to the same stream for water. After five years, the monk from the eastern mountain noticed the absence of his counterpart. Assuming he had altered his routine to mornings, he was puzzled when the other monk still did not appear. A month later, concerned for his friend’s health, he ascended the western mountain for answers.
Upon reaching the temple, he found his friend practicing Taichi. Inquiring about his month-long absence from the stream, he was shown a well. The western monk explained, “Over the past five years, I dug this well daily after my Taichi practice. Now, I draw water here, affording me more time for Taichi.”
REFLECTION:
The hours between 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm are crucial for personal development. It’s when you can dig your own “well of pure water,” whether it’s delving into a favored subject, honing a professional skill, cultivating musical or artistic talents, reading, crafting, learning languages, writing, exploring IT, AI, or engaging in sports.
By managing our time wisely and investing in our abilities like the diligent monk, we can achieve excellence over time.
Let’s inspire ourselves and others to use our time with purpose and meaning.
God bless you!
With love,
