A master planted many beautiful orchids in the garden of the monastery. He looked after them carefully every day. One day, the master needed to go afar for a week. He asked a young student to look after the orchids for him. The student carefully sprayed them 3 times a day following master’s instruction. Unfortunately, on the last day of the week, he accidently broke the most beautiful and colorful one. He was scared because the master love that one the most. When the master came back, the student kneeled and said sorry for that mistake. But the Master pulled him up and said: “It is Okay.” The student surprised and asked: “I broke your favorite one. Why are you not angry with me?”
The master answered: “I grow Orchids for happiness, not for angers.”
The answer of the Master also surprised me. So many times, in our lives, we forgot that. We often are angry of unexpected situations and forget our original purposes.
For example, we make friends because we love the way they are. Then by time, we forgot about that and often are angry with their differences. Or we get married because we love and respect our spouse and would like to share life with them for good. Then by time, we forgot about that and are angry with them because they could not give us a lot of things as we expected.
And the most important thing is that: We are born for happiness, not for angers! Do not forget that! We have many happy conditions around. “Take a deep breath!” If you still can do that! It is already the greatest reason to be happy. At least, you are still alive. That’s all you need to be happy and start again!
With love,
