Do you fear silence? Do you avoid quiet places and moments of solitude?

I once did. Like many young people in today’s fast-paced world, I used to shy away from stillness, filling my days with noise and distractions. Looking back, I realize that my fear stemmed from two things:

  1. The overwhelming flood of thoughts and emotions that would surface, making me feel small and unsettled.
  2. The belief that sitting in stillness was a waste of time—an empty, unproductive moment.

But as the years pass, I have come to cherish solitude. It is in these quiet moments that I make my most important decisions, not with haste, but with clarity. In solitude, I encounter my true self—not the self shaped by external expectations, but the one that dwells deep within. And in that sacred space, I discover new desires, fresh energy, and even dreams I had not dared to imagine.

More than anything, solitude is where I embrace my weaknesses with honesty, acknowledging my brokenness and seeking healing. It is where I listen—not just to the world around me, but to the whispers of the Divine.

This morning, I sit in my room, listening to life unfold around me—the hum of a car engine, the song of a bird, the gentle touch of the breeze, and the quiet rhythm of my own breath. In these simple sounds, I sense the mystery of existence. And in this stillness, I find peace.

A verse rises in my heart: “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

In this sacred silence, my soul rejoices. Praise the Lord with all that is within me!

With love,
