“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
There are moments in life when faith does not look like standing tall. It looks like a child quietly reaching for a Father’s hand.
This painting captures that sacred truth. Jesus is not walking ahead, asking the little one to find the way alone. He walks beside her. One hand gently holds hers; the other carries a lamp, illuminating the path that she cannot yet see. The road remains unknown, but His presence is enough.

The colorful mosaic surrounding them reminds me of life itself, such as a collection of joyful memories, painful experiences, unanswered prayers, and unexpected blessings. From our perspective, the pieces often seem random. Yet in the hands of the Divine Artist, every fragment becomes part of a masterpiece.
The little girl does not appear afraid because her confidence is not in the road but in the One who walks with her. That is the heart of Christian faith. We are not promised a journey without darkness, but we are promised a Companion who never lets go.
How often do I try to carry my own lantern, map my own future, and hide my fears behind self-reliance? Yet the simplest prayer is perhaps the deepest:
“Hold my hand, Abba.”
When I surrender my hand into His, I discover that I have never been walking alone. His whisper echoes through every season of life: “I am always with you” (Matt 28:20). In that promise, fear gives way to peace, uncertainty to trust, and every step becomes a journey home.
With love,
